Hey everyone,
Almost time for some more Storm Front. I'm also about ready to start posting some of my other writing on the site. The site is quiet these days and I don't really mind too much. I just wish there was more content and that I was able to contribute more at a quicker pace. Unfortunately, writing doesn't pay the bills so I find time where I can. This is just a random catch up and hello because I haven't done it for a while. I need to do it more.
Does anyone out there watch Torchwood? ***SPOILERS FOLLOW***
I love Torchwood. And not just because the main character is 'omnisexual' either. I really dig it. But I watched the final episode of Season 2 today and bawled my eyes out! I did give a spoiler warning so if you'r still here reading this, I'm guessing you've seen it or just don't care. WARNING WARNING still here? You've been warned. Owen and Toshiko bit the dust in grand fashion. It was so sad! I love this show. I've been watching it for two years. You get used to characters and that show is really good at making the team seem like a mini family. So it was a shocker to lose not one, but two of them at once. And on that show, they're not afraid to show some emotion. Not like on Shit Trek DS9 when they killed off Jadzia. Anyway, it's an awesome show. Spinoff of Doctor Who, so expect the camp, but it's quite a lot moer serious than that show is. I like them both though even though my typical sci-fi love if Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica, and some Trek.
Speaking of Battlestar Galactica, I'm about to venture into the fourth season which I'm very much looking forward to. It's a stunning show. I still think Babylon 5, seasons 2-4 are some of the best seasons on TV. Even up against BG, which had two stunning first two seasons and a not so bad third one. BG at average level still tends to be shitloads better than any other TV. Like the show that started off well but got 'Lost' in its own hype and rhetoric. The first season of Lost was great, but then it just fell over for me and I've never been able to get back into it.
I don't watch a lot of TV, but when I do, I'm always studying the written side of it, trying to understand what was in the writer's head. And I think to myself a lot, 'this is shit, who wrote this?'. But alas. I think the landscape of TV is changing a great deal. I sense a move in the next decade away from traditional network distribution systems.
I'm rambling again! I'm going to end this here and get to work on the latest Storm Front. I want to finish this story this year so I need to step the pace up a bit. It's all gone to hell in my head. What I wanted, what I've planned in the past, it's all gone. The story was leading one way a few years ago when Storm first left, and now it's pulling me back to the beginning again. You'll see what I mean if you're still reading in a few days. See you on the flipside,
Peace.
